🇧🇷 Dr. Victor Petreca é professor assistente na Escola de Enfermagem William Connell do Boston College. Enfermeiro Psiquiátrico e de Saúde Mental com certificação de Prática Avançada, ele dirige o Centro de Treinamento Policial em Intervenção em Crise. Possui vasta experiência em psiquiatria (incluindo forense e transtornos de personalidade), assistência médica correcional, psicofarmacologia e avaliação de risco.

Sua pesquisa concentra-se em psiquiatria forense e saúde mental, examinando questões relacionadas à vitimologia, trauma sexual, abuso sexual e comportamento violento (por exemplo, mutilação e estrangulamento). Sua pesquisa também é financiada pelo Departamento de Saúde Mental de Massachusetts para explorar programas de transferência de prisões, trabalhando em estreita colaboração com autoridades policiais e clínicos forenses para avaliar e otimizar as respostas comportamentais a crises. Em seu trabalho clínico, ele realizou avaliações psiquiátricas e gerenciou o atendimento de saúde mental de indivíduos em diversas unidades prisionais. Ele também realiza avaliações psiquiátricas e gerenciamento psicofarmacológico para indivíduos sob supervisão do Departamento Federal de Prisões em sua reintegração à sociedade.

🇺🇸 Dr. Victor Petreca is an Assistant Professor at the Boston College William Connell School of Nursing. A board-certified Advanced Practice Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, he directs the Center for Police Training in Crisis Intervention. He has extensive experience in psychiatry (including forensics and personality disorders), correctional healthcare, psychopharmacology, and risk assessment.

His research focuses on forensic psychiatry and mental health, examining issues related to victimology, sexual trauma, sexual offending, and violent behavior (e.g., mutilation and strangulation). His research is also funded by the Massachusetts Department of Mental Health to explore jail diversion programs, working closely with law enforcement and forensic clinicians to assess and optimize behavioral crisis responses. In his clinical work, he has performed psychiatric evaluations and managed the mental health care of individuals in several correctional facilities. He also performs psychiatric evaluations and psychopharmacological management for individuals who are under supervision of the Federal Bureau of Prisons as they reintegrate into society.

Tem formação acadêmica em Filosofia e Psicologia (CRP SP 06/73995), com Especialização em Terapia Cognitiva pelo Instituto de Terapia Cognitiva de São Paulo; Aperfeiçoamento em Comportamento Homicida pela Universidade Nacional de La Plata (Argentina) e Mestrado pelo Departamento de Psiquiatria e Psicologia Médica da Escola Paulista de Medicina da Universidade Federal de São Paulo na área de Psiquiatria Forense. Doutor pela PUC de São Paulo (Bolsa CAPES). Foi psicólogo responsável pelo setor de psicologia forense do Presídio da Polícia Militar de São Paulo de 2004 a 2012 e Colaborador do Departamento Penitenciário Nacional do Ministério da Justiça de 2006 a 2008. É Diretor do Centro de Estudos do Comportamento Criminal-CECCRIM e Perito Ad Hoc e Assistente Técnico. É consultor e palestrante em eventos científicos em todo o território nacional. É autor do livro “Se o Mal Tivesse um Nome”. Autor da Escala de Avaliação do Grau de Maturidade Criminal (Vetor Editora – em conclusão). Em parceria com o Dr. Kevin Beaver da Faculdade de Criminologia da Universidade Estadual da Flórida, tem artigos publicados no Journal of Criminal Justice. Foi coordenador do curso de Especialização em Psicologia Jurídica das Faculdades Educatie em São Paulo.
